SAINT-CHINIAN
MATURED IN OAK BARRELS

 

Grape varieties : Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre.
Yield : 40 hl/Ha.
Soil type : A hillside area where the soil changes from schist to chalky clay.
Crop system : Ground tilled, compost added; planned disease and pest management; leaves trimmed and grapes thinned. Harvested when fully ripe.
Vinification : Vinified by grape variety from selected vineyards. Completely destemmed.
Long, temperature-controlled maceration.

Cellar work : According to the vintage, two thirds out of barrel of oak " Merrain" and a third out of tank, or totality out of barrels. .

vintage 2000 :

Deep ruby. With the nose black fruits, prune, liquorice. Stop peppered and réglissée, harmonious and ripe, with a beautiful balance in the palate
Potential of guard: to drinking, 3 to 7 years.
To taste with roast red meats, game

vintage 2001 :
Very dark dress. With the nose very ripe red fruits, smoked. Fleshy in the palate, with volume and tannins fine and elegant which remain well in the palate.
Potential of guard: 4 to 8 years.

vintage 2002 :
Dark dress, nose of fruits to the wooded notes. In mouth evolves/moves quickly on the fruity one, with rather dense tannins.
Finale fruity and réglissés a beautiful depth. Potential of guard: 3 to 7 years.
To taste with meats roties, game.
